The 8-Signal Pattern Filter. A Deep Dive

Every opportunity that enters the Early Thunder radar passes through the 8-Signal Pattern Filter. Each signal is scored from 0-100, and the composite score represents a weighted aggregation that accounts for signal interactions.

Signal 1. Toy Phase. Is this technology or asset still in its 'toy' phase, dismissed by incumbents? High scores indicate the opportunity is still early enough to offer asymmetric upside. Think of the internet in 1995, smartphones in 2007, or crypto in 2015.

Signal 2. Working Code. Does the project have functional, deployed technology? Vaporware scores low. Battle-tested production systems score high. Verified through GitHub analysis, on-chain data, and product testing.

Signal 3. Community. Is there an organic, growing community of users and advocates? Measured by genuine engagement, not bot-inflated metrics.

Signal 4. Dev Activity. How active is development? Tracked by commit frequency, contributor diversity, and code quality metrics.

Signal 5. Smart Money. Where is sophisticated capital flowing? Tracked by venture funding, whale wallets, and institutional filings.

Signal 6. Narrative. Is there a compelling, easily communicable story? The best investments have narratives that can spread virally.

Signal 7. Hard to Buy. Is the asset difficult to acquire? Friction creates opportunity. If everyone can easily buy it, the asymmetry is gone.

Signal 8. Catalyst. Are there identifiable near-term catalysts? Catalysts convert latent value into realized returns.
